Our team has designed a new tool for scheduling agents on clustered servers. The tool is useful also for non-clustered environments. Given that IBM Domino does not originally support failover of scheduled agents, Smart Agent Scheduler solves the problem, and agents are triggered, even if server where agent is planned goes down.

Since scheduled agent failover is not supported by IBM, if one cluster node goes down, agent is not triggered on other nodes. If the agent is scheduled to run ‘On any server’ then it will be run on all cluster replicas. Do you have the same problem?

Smart Agent Scheduler provides a solution to run scheduled agents only on one cluster instance, agent failover and also a better management of agents in nonclustered environment.

Failover of scheduled agents is important for organizations who have implemented a Domino cluster. When one node goes down, it is business- critical to run agents on another node. All databases/operations should be available 24/7 and there shouldn’t be downtime or manual work in a clustered environment. IBM Domino Agent schedule manager does not provide this functionality.
Smart Agent Scheduler can solve this problem. Agents will run on a primary server, and if it fails, the agent will be triggered on the secondary server. You will benefit from the Smart Agent Scheduler even in non-clustered environment because
agent scheduling is centralized in the tool - it’s not needed to open each database to set/enable/disable/run agent. The administrator can do all these tasks in one place. By using the tool, the administrator can also avoid a situation, when two or more agents run at the same time.

View icons provide a fast overview about enabled/ disabled agents and agent running status. User friendly interface provides information about agent status in the view, so there is no need to look into every agent’s log/definition.

 Smart Agent Scheduler supports two languages: English and Latvian, but it is easy to add other language packs in case needed.

All database setup is in one dialog and it's simple to use.

By default Smart Agent Scheduler logs events in LOG.nsf, but it's also possible to setup and log events/errors in Smart ErrorLog database which is similar to OpenNTF LOG.
